how archie can actually go out into the open without immediately being arrested is honestly anyone's guess. the international police were informed of what he did, but so far he has yet to even be investigated. hell, he's not even sure himself if he's going to end up in jail or not - screwing around with legendary pokémon and actually succeeding is... not an easy thing to pin down. despite this, archie has not been pushing his luck; he's been staying in the base as much as he can, usually going out at night. he hates having to sneak about like a non-entity out of fear that he'd drag his entire team down with him, but he brought it on himself. the paranoia is in part genuine fear of ruining the lives of his grunts more than he already has.

the only reason archie had even decided to come out (in normal clothes instead of his wetsuit and a plain bandana instead of the aqua one) is because shelly had been coming the news stations and bizarrely, team aqua was only mentioned in passing. there was no mention of "if you see the leader or members report them immediately," so he'd elected to take the risk and go to the pokémart level of the department store.
he's idly looking at the label on an elixir when he hears a familiar voice nearby. hell, she pretty much had a presence around her; air that felt about ready to solidify into a boot and kick his ass. archie looks up and sure enough, there's may.
he freezes, praying to arceus that she won't notice him. he can blend into the crowd! maybe he should take his bandana off? she's never seen him without one. he puts the bottle down slowly, reaching up to untie it.

today, she found herself at a cafe overlooking one of said canals, pecking at a parfait. she occasionally passed down a slice of fruit to her new friends — a bulbasaur, given to her by professor oak, and a clefairy she had caught during her (long) time on mount moon. she could easily say that was the brunt of her trip so far, but she had bonded with clefairy quickly, and it reminded her of her mother's clefable. she used to jump on its stomach like a plush trampoline when she was much younger — clefable was happy to do it.
perusing a pamphlet about the city, lillie begins to drift off. her eyes begin to flutter shut as she rests her head on her hand, spoon still in mouth. ]

he's enjoying a cup of coffee at the very same cafe that lillie is at, with aron at his side in much the same way that bulbasaur and clefairy are at hers. the difference is that aron is far more curious and prone to straying from her trainer, and steven sees her trotting over to greet the other pokemon. it's then that he sees what he assumes to be their trainer dozing off. he hails down a waitress (who blushes a bit when he asks her to approach) for a request.
lillie will awaken to said waitress approaching her with a cup of hot chocolate to serve. if protested against, she only says that it was paid for by another patron, along with her parfait. how mysterious!
on top of that, a look down will also show that there is an aron that is clearly not hers interacting with her pokemon. even more mysterious! ]
[Something that isn't always considered when trying a new recipe is the amount of dishes necessary to make a good attempt of it.
Of course, Yukari doesn't usually generate this many when trying a recipe, as with rare exceptions she typically gets it perfect the first time.
